On your own blog, please reflect on today's class by answering the following:
1. What did you learn today (specifically, what did you learn that was new)?
I learned a lot today. Specifically, everything was new to me. When we spoke about browsers, I had no clue that Mozilla Firefox was much more secure than Internet Explorer. I will be using Mozilla Firefox more often in the future. I learned how to set up a blog and how to use it. I also learned how to create a link (neat!). I learned how to create a survey, plus how to post documents on google docs.
2. How could you use your new blog in your classroom?
I'm not exactly quite sure how I could use my new blog in my classroom since I'm a bilingual resource teacher and some of my students/parents will not have access to the internet. I may use my blog with staff members more than with my students/parents. I will be teaching third and fourth grade students (push in/pull out/co-teach). Depending on who I co-teach, we may be able to collaborate with how to use the blog.
I think you can definitely use a blog in the class. Write english posts sometimes and spanish sometimes... perhaps not the exact same posts even. Start small with little class updates and work on promotion..it'll slowly get there.
